Only what keeps you signed in.
The small number of cookies and browser storage items Mayo International School uses to keep you signed in and to save your place in an application.

What we set
We use browser storage for your parent portal sign-in session, the draft of an application form so a dropped connection does not lose your work, and the school's own visit counting described below. We set no cookies for any of it.
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or third-party analytics on the parent portal.
The full list
- Sign-in session — keeps you signed in to the portal, cleared when you sign out or after TO CONFIRM: session lifetime.
- Application draft — remembers the step you reached, cleared when the application is submitted.
- Map consent on the contact page — remembers that you chose to load the map, so you are not asked again on that device. Cleared with your browser storage.
- The school's own visit counting — two random numbers in your browser's storage (one for this browser, one for this visit) let the school count visits to the public pages: which pages were read and for how long, where the visit came from (a search engine, WhatsApp, a tagged link), the kind of device and the city your network reports, taps on WhatsApp or call buttons, and the form field you were on if you left a form unfinished — never what you typed. It is not linked to your name or number, stays on the school's own systems, is not shared with anyone; page-by-page detail is deleted after 90 days and the rest after 13 months. The parent portal is never counted. There is no third-party analytics product, tag manager, advertising pixel or session recorder.
Other sites your browser contacts
Two pages can load something served by someone other than us. Neither loads on its own: you see a panel naming the service, and nothing is requested until you click.
- The map on our contact page is served by OpenStreetMap, a non-commercial mapping foundation. If you load it, your IP address reaches openstreetmap.org and tile.openstreetmap.org. It sets no advertising cookie. We chose it over Google Maps for that reason.
- Videos in our galleries are served by YouTube in its no-cookie mode. If you press play, your IP address reaches youtube-nocookie.com.
Our fonts, images and everything else are served from this website. The parent portal contacts no other company at all.
Managing them
You can clear this storage from your browser's settings at any time. Doing so signs you out of the portal and discards any unsaved application draft on that device. Because we set nothing beyond what is strictly necessary, there is no consent banner to accept or refuse.
Change history
What changed in this notice, and when. Corrections are recorded here as well as additions.
- 22 August 2026
Added the section above naming OpenStreetMap and YouTube, and put both behind a click-to-load panel so nothing reaches them unless you ask for it.
Correcting an omission: between 4 and 22 August 2026 the map on our contact page loaded automatically, which sent the IP address of everyone who opened that page to openstreetmap.org, and we had not said so here. No advertising cookie was involved and no other page was affected. It is fixed, and we are recording it rather than quietly changing the text.
Our fonts were also being fetched from Google on every page over the same period. We now serve them ourselves, so no Google server is contacted anywhere on this site.
