CBSE re-evaluation explained

The steps after the result if you think your marks are wrong.

IN SHORT

After the results, CBSE lets students ask to see a photocopy of their evaluated answer book, have their marks verified, and have specific answers re-evaluated, in a short window announced with the results. Applications are online, with a fee per subject set in CBSE's circular.

The steps

Read the year's circular: the order of steps and the dates are set there.

  • Photocopy of the evaluated answer book
  • Verification of marks — totals, unmarked answers
  • Re-evaluation of specific questions

Is it worth it?

If an answer was left unmarked, or totals look wrong, yes. Marks can also go down on re-evaluation, so ask a teacher to look at the photocopy first.

Questions parents ask

Can marks decrease after CBSE re-evaluation?

Yes, marks can go up or down. Look at the photocopy with a teacher before applying.
