JAC Delhi counselling and the Delhi quota

How Delhi's four state engineering universities admit B.Tech students, and why where you pass Class XII matters.

JAC Delhi (Joint Admission Counselling) fills B.Tech seats at DTU, NSUT, IIIT-Delhi and IGDTUW on JEE Main rank. Most seats — 85% at DTU, NSUT and IGDTUW — are kept for the Delhi region: students who pass Class XII from a recognised school in Delhi. Mayo International School is a CBSE school in Patparganj, Delhi, with JEE preparation (Physics Wallah and VMC) inside the school timetable.

How it works

JAC Delhi publishes its brochure after the JEE Main results, usually in May or June. Check the current brochure for dates and seat matrix.

  • Register online on the JAC Delhi portal and pay the fee
  • Fill your choices of university and branch, in order of preference
  • Seats are allotted in rounds on your JEE Main rank and category, then a spot round
  • Accept the seat, pay, and upload or verify documents

The Delhi region quota

For JAC Delhi, the Delhi region is decided by where the student passed Class XII — a recognised school in Delhi — not by where the family lives.

So a student from Ghaziabad or Noida who studies Classes XI and XII at a Delhi school competes in the larger Delhi-region pool. The quota rewards real enrolment: attend the school, sit its exams and pass Class XII from it.

At Mayo

Preparation with Physics Wallah and VMC happens inside the school timetable, not in a coaching centre after school.

Mayo does not offer dummy admission: students attend school, and the preparation is part of the school day.

School buses run from 13 areas across East Delhi and Ghaziabad.

Class XI admission for 2027-28 is open until 15 December 2026 (40 seats this round).
