Every private school in Delhi publishes its own nursery admission criteria and points. Use the calculator once per school: type in that school's points, tick the criteria you can prove with a document, and compare your totals across schools. Nursery admission for 2027-28 opens on 1 November 2026.

How to use the totals

  • Apply to several schools, including where your score is strong — usually the ones nearest home
  • Points only count when you can prove them: keep the address proof, sibling's ID card or alumni certificate ready
  • Schools publish lists in order of points; the draw of lots decides between children on the same total
  • Check each school's criteria for the year — the Directorate of Education strikes down some criteria in some years

Distance is measured the school's way

Most schools measure distance from home to school as published in their criteria — often by road or by a map tool they name. Use the same method, or your band may be wrong. Our distance finder gives the straight-line distance to Mayo and your nearest bus stop.

How are nursery admission points calculated in Delhi?

Add the points the school publishes for each criterion you meet — distance band, sibling, alumni parent, girl child and so on. The school ranks children by that total.

Is the calculator's default scoring official?
