Olympiads for school students

Which olympiads matter, who can take them, and how they connect to JEE and NEET preparation.

IN SHORT

India's official route to the international science and maths olympiads is run by HBCSE: a first-stage exam (the National Standard Examinations, and IOQM for maths), then the Indian National Olympiads, a training camp, and the international team. School-level olympiads run by private organisations are good practice for younger students.

Why it helps JEE and NEET

Olympiad problems build exactly the depth JEE Advanced asks for. Students who try the NSE in Class XI usually find the JEE syllabus easier.

Questions parents ask

Which olympiad is best for Class 9 students?

NSEJS (science) and IOQM (maths) are the official first stages open to younger students; school-level olympiads are good practice.
