The role of AI in school and studies

Author
· 15 OCTOBER 2026

AI tools are now part of daily life, and children will use them at school, at home and at work.

Where AI can help: explaining a topic in a different way, practising questions, and helping teachers prepare lessons.

Where care is needed: AI can be wrong, so children must learn to check answers. Copying an AI answer is not learning. Personal details should never be typed into unknown apps.

How AI can help learning, and where children still need to think for themselves.

What parents can do: ask your child to explain an answer in their own words, keep homework time screen-light, and talk about what is safe to share online.

A good school teaches children to use technology wisely, alongside reading, writing and thinking for themselves.
