Nursery admission: what to prepare before you apply
Applying to Nursery is often the first time a family deals with a school office, and it can feel like a lot of paperwork for a three-year-old. It does not need to be.
Start with the age rule. In Delhi, the class your child can join depends on their age on 31 March of the year the session starts. Check this first, because it decides whether you apply for Nursery, LKG or UKG.
Next, gather the documents. A birth certificate, proof of address, recent photographs of your child and both parents, and any earlier school records if your child has attended a playschool. Clear phone photos are enough to upload; you do not need a scanner.
Then visit. A campus visit tells you more than any brochure: how the classrooms feel, how teachers speak to small children, where the toilets and water points are, and how arrival and dispersal work at the gate.
Finally, apply online. The form saves as you go, so you can stop and come back. Our admissions office calls every family who enquires, and you can ask them anything you are unsure about.
