UKG class: age, syllabus and the day

What a UKG year covers — language, numbers, the senses and independence — and how Mayo teaches it through play.

IN SHORT

UKG (KG2, Senior KG or PP2) is for children who are 5 to under 6 on 31 March of the year the session starts. The year builds listening and speaking, early sounds and numbers, fine-motor control and independence — through play, not workbooks. At Mayo International School in Patparganj, East Delhi, it follows Kreedo's play-based early-years programme. UKG admission for 2027-28 is open until 15 December 2026 (60 seats this round).

  • Tata Edge smart classrooms alongside play-based learning
  • Abacus included at no extra cost
  • Excursions and field trips through the year
  • No formal examinations: termly observation reports and reading levels instead
  • Computer education starts in UKG
  • Bagless Days: twenty-one a session for LKG to Class III

Safety for young children

The school runs its own buses, with female helpers, GPS tracking, dashcams and emergency contact support at all times.

  • 128 CCTV cameras across the campus with round-the-clock monitoring
