How Delhi nursery admission works

Delhi's Directorate of Education sets the calendar for entry-level admissions (Nursery, KG and Class I) in private schools each year. Schools publish their own criteria for general seats.

Seats for economically weaker sections (EWS) and disadvantaged groups (DG) are filled separately, through the Directorate's online application and lottery.

Apply to more than one school, keep copies of every document, and note each school's closing date.

Usually: the child's birth certificate, photographs of the child and parents, proof of address and a parent's photo ID.
